We run groundbreaking research on efficient AI. Our proprietary architecture scales on commodity hardware, destroying the need for "coal rolling" data centers.
We are building the world’s first structurally profitable, positive margin opex AI company. Unlike the hyperscalers, burning the planet for nothing - we will make money and save the environment doing it.
We care about people
We build highly focused, deeply opinionated ML and AI tools for scientists, chemists, biologists, and engineers of all stripes. Our models are not, and never will be, licensed for harmful uses.
Responsible AI also means respecting the data ecosystem that got us here. We will redistribute the massive benefits of our blazing fast, energy efficient AI to creatives and the open internet that built us.

Lowdown Labs is fully worker managed and operated. DEI is our DNA. We own our labor, and we make our own decisions.
Our vision is collaborative, hopeful, and practical. Our beliefs are in our bylaws. We are incorporating as a PBC and want to be a real AI B Corp - we mean it!

Other AI labs define AI safety all too conveniently while glossing over immediate, material harms. We are what they pretend to be!
It's quite obvious that the stones they refuse to turn are the ones that could make a real difference, at least to us. So we look where they won't!
Story
Lowdown Labs was built in response to a pressing need. Irresponsible and aggressive AI deployments have caused real harm. Hyperscalers demand more than society can give.
The path that brought us here taught us that responsibly applying knowledge can illuminate away the world's darkness.
That ethos is what leads to discovery, discovery leads to innovation, and innovation is the only mechanism we have to right the wrongs that remain.
We will solve the big scary problems of the world - and never back down.

Suraj founded Lowdown Labs with a simple mission: "stop Big Tech from wasting resources!" With experience making huge systems that scale hugely, he is assembling a cracked team with equally high powered backing and resources to address the elephant in the room and make intelligent systems out of the bespoke approach to AI he has developed in his research background.
